• iOS 5.0.1 untethered update

I received a notification in the software update section on my iPhone 4 recently. It might be because I opted to download the update but not install it via iTunes. My iPad has not been plugged in for a few days and has not asked if I want to update so I suspect that is how the iPhone knows I need to update. It would be cool if it just new by checking online. So many features of the iPhone do not require PC anymore so if it hasn’t already i suspect it will very soon.

iOS 5 To Be Released For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch On October 12th

iOS 5 is finally here. It’s been 4 months since it was originally announced back at WWDC in June.

Fortunately for any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch users out there, iOS 5 has reached that milestone today, and it now has a firm release date of October 12th.

    Features include:

    Notification Center

iOS was in dire need of a revamp in the notifications area. It was one area where iOS 4 really lagged behind competitors such as Android, and Apple hasn’t disappointed with the introduction of iOS 5.
